FACILITIES MANAGER

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation/upkeep of all buildings, utilities, and infrastructure supporting Hazelett’s business operations in VT. This role ensures that manufacturing equipment and building systems are maintained to minimize downtime, support quality manufacturing, meet safety and environmental requirements, and drive continuous improvement.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Facilities & Infrastructure Management

  • Maintain and repair all facility systems to the defined schedule including: Electrical, HVAC, Compressed air systems, Plumbing, Hydraulic and Waste Systems.

  • Manage the maintenance budget and deliver cost saving initiatives.

  • Design, implement, and track a comprehensive PM program to maximize equipment uptime and extend the lifespan of manufacturing assets. 

  • Implement sustainable infrastructure solutions.

  • Source and manage contracts with external service providers including crane inspections, janitorial, landscaping and waste management. 

  • Use data and performance metrics (KPIs) to identify and prevent bottlenecks in machine uptime and implement "Lean" solutions to optimize workflow.

  • Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. 

Safety, Environmental & Compliance

  • Maintain safety systems such as fire suppression and alarm systems, eyewash stations, emergency egress, and lockout/tagout support.

  • Partner with EHS to manage waste streams and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and local / state regulations.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Required

  • 5+ years of facilities or industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, compressed air, HVAC, and mechanical systems.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA and industrial safety requirements.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced machine shop.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a CNC machining or custom fabrication environment.

  • Technical degree or trade certification (electrical, mechanical, or facilities management).

  • Experience supporting machine installations and plant expansions. 

  • Lean Manufacturing or TPM experience.

The base pay range for this full-time position is $85,000 – $105,000. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition, our ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
