ELECTRO-MECHANICAL ENGINEER I
As an Electro-Mechanical Engineer at Hazelett, you’ll help design, build, and support the mechanical and electrical systems that power our products. This is a broad role with lots of variety and opportunities to learn. The work is balanced between hands-on and design/documentation and includes everything from electrical motors and controls to fluid systems, pneumatic systems and heat transfer. You’ll collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and production staff to help deliver products safely and smoothly.
What You’ll Do:
Research, develop, design, test, program, and integrate off-the-shelf and custom electronic components, sensors, and systems for use in production equipment.
Help with installing, maintaining, and fixing electromechanical systems. Troubleshooting to keep them running reliability and to optimize their performance where opportunities arise.
Write and maintain clear documentation: specs, manuals, reports, drawings, and schematics.
Support manufacturing equipment and shop production as needed.
Spot opportunities for upgrades to take advantage of industry trends and emerging electromechanical technologies

What We’re Looking For:
Works well in a team and brings a thoughtful, practical approach to solving problems
Enjoys a balance of hands-on and work at a desk, and able to prioritize and balance work across multiple projects
Solid foundation and familiarity with electro-mechanical machines, machine components, assembly processes and techniques, industrial standards.
A degree or significant work experience in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience using CAD/CAE tools and creating electrical documentation.
Comfortable reading and designing mechanical and electrical schematics.
Familiar with PLCs, including programming.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Duties are primarily carried out in an office environment, the manufacturing production floor, and at customer and supplier sites as required. Occasional exposure to fumes, noise, and gases from equipment or machinery may occur. The individual must be able to work in an office setting or on the production floor for extended periods of time and light lifting will be required. Personal protective equipment must be utilized when working on the production floor. Occasional travel to attend meetings and visit customers may be needed.

The base range for this full-time position is $69,000 – $82,000. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition, our ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
