CALIBRATION & TOOLING TECHNICIAN I
We are seeking Calibration & Tooling Technician I, which is an intermediate-level position that is responsible for testing, adjusting, calibrating, and operating the measuring and recording instruments (gages) as well as maintaining, organizing, and overseeing the tool crib. Thus, enabling the uninterrupted and continuous manufacturing and machining operations of the company. Calibration & Tooling Technicians play a key role in ensuring that the company’s products are machined and manufactured to meet stringent quality standards and production deadlines.
Schedule: 7:30am – 4:30pm
The base / hourly pay range for this full-time position is $23.38-$31.63. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition, our ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Execute the calibration of gages based on Measurement and Test Equipment Calibrations and Gagetrak comply with ISO 9001.
Monitor, maintain, and document the performance and function of gages and cutting tools and ensure repairs and/or replacements are completed when required.
Collaborate with other departments to support their calibration and tooling needs as required.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives associated with calibration and cutting tools.
Assist in managing the inventory of calibration standards, machine tooling, and supplies.
Upkeep the CTL (central tool location) and calibration areas to maintain a clean, organized, and safe area.
Maintain accurate records of tool usage, repairs, maintenance and calibration schedules.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
A high school diploma is required. A vocational/technical education with evidence of the above skills is desirable.
Knowledge of Hazelett production processes, manufacturing and quality systems (specifically cutting tools and gages).
Knowledge and demonstrated skill with Hazelett’s MRP system, Gagetrak, and Microsoft Office programs.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with the principles of lean manufacturing, such as continuous flow production, point of use inventory, and Kanban processes.
Enhanced communication skills, both written and verbal, and an ability to converse/work with personnel at all levels throughout the business.
Demonstrated analytical ability.
