ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE - ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

 

Our team is looking for an Accounting Associate - Accounts Payable to provide accounting and clerical support in our Finance Department; maintaining accounting document files, primarily accounts payable processing. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.

  • Match purchase orders to invoices and enter into ERP System.

  • Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, scheduling and preparing checks.

  • Respond to all vendor inquiries, reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.

  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately.

  • File payment vouchers and maintain paid invoice files, and vendor records.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Associate's degree in an appropriate discipline with two years of accounting experience or the equivalent combination of education coursework and experience.

  • Excellent office skills with a general understanding of accounting concepts and terminology, particularly in the functional area of accounts payable.

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and computerized accounting programs.

  • Detail oriented and accurate.

  • Has the motivation, desire, and ability to work as a team member.

  • A thorough knowledge of office procedures, practices, and formats for financial business correspondence is required.
