STAFF ACCOUNTANT – TEMPORARY POSITION
We are looking for a temporary Staff Accountant to provide accounting and clerical support in our Finance Department.
This temporary position starts in September and is projected to end during the first half of January 2019. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday) during the hours of 8:00AM – 5:00PM. This position reports to the Vice President of Finance, as well as the Accounting Manager, prior to the Accounting Manager taking a leave of absence, on or around November 1, 2018. Training during the month of September 2018, can be flexible, depending on the candidate’s experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Run daily registers
Monitor daily cash activity through Banking websites.
Process and apply daily cash receipts to Accounts Receivable
Reconcile G/L accounts to source documents
Payroll processing, including bi-weekly payroll run
Support Vice President of Finance and/or coworkers with their duties and responsibilities, as required. Such as, payables processing and month-end closing procedures
Maintain and review organized set of detailed records and files to support financial reports
Performs other duties as assigned or required
Excellent office skills with a general understanding of accounting concepts and terminology, particularly in the functional areas of accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
Knowledge of internal controls and their effective application
Experience with the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and financial reporting software
Attention to detail is critical. Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate financial data in a timely fashion
Self-starter with ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish all objectives
Strong experience using financial management tools, such as Excel
Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
Has the motivation, desire, and ability to work as a team member
A thorough knowledge of office procedures, practices, and formats for financial business correspondence is required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
An Associate's Degree in an appropriate discipline with two years of accounting experience or the equivalent combination of education coursework and experience.
