The successful Purchasing Associate will assist Purchasing Department personnel with daily tasks related to the procurement of goods and services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain purchasing data in the company business system.
Create quote request and maintain the business system.
Prepare purchase orders as requested and directed by the Manager.
Is customer focused, both internal and external.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
The Purchasing Associate must have effective computer, internet, and telephone skills.
A working knowledge of integrated business systems, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
Must be able to write clearly.
Must be able to effectively present information to internal and external customers.
Ability to be a team player and assist all members of the Purchasing Department.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Associate Degree in Business or equivalent professional level of knowledge that includes work experience, alternative education, and training certification.
Clerical and/or Purchasing experience in a technical manufacturing environment is desired.
The Purchasing Associate reports to the Manager – Purchasing. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
The Purchasing Associate is required to interact effectively with a wide variety of personnel in all departments within Hazelett and with suppliers.
The duties of this position are carried out in an office/manufacturing production environment, which may include exposure to fumes, noise, and gases from equipment and machinery. Personal safety equipment must be utilized when on the production floor.
