INVENTORY SHIPPING & RECEIVING TECHNICIAN (2pm - 12am)

 

Basic Function

Build crates and packing containers for up to 75% of the time.  Requires lifting on a daily basis that could be heavy at times. Assist in the Inventory Department with daily and routine tasks related to the receiving and shipping of materials. 

 

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create crates and packaging containers for shipment of materials.

  • Receive items by unpacking containers.

  • Verify items received by checking identifying information of items; inspecting condition of materials, and compare count/measure to purchase order and packing list.

  • Maintain inventory by marking and placing items in stock.

  • Distribute items to projects or individuals.

  • Document inventory by verifying actual quantity against system data.

  • Maintain inventory operations by reorganizing storage areas and reporting needed changes.

  • Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Minimum high school diploma is required.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.   

 

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.   .

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee spends most of time standing and is required to operate a forklift truck, pallet mover, and hand truck. The employee is required to walk and reach with hands and arms and will use a jig saw, wall saw, air nail gun, and stapler.  The vision requirements include: close vision and ability to adjust focus.
