The technology incorporated in the Hazelett® twin-belt caster has evolved over decades of innovative engineering followed by work in our shops and in those of our customers where casting trials are conducted.

The company philosophy encourages employees to pursue new ideas. Failure is recognized not when an idea does not succeed but rather if work is not terminated when the shortcoming becomes evident. This is in contrast to large corporations that require extensive approvals before an idea can be tried and then often allow an R&D program to attain a life of its own ignoring early indications of major shortcomings.

The Hazelett caster is, in many ways, not a mature technology and thought by many to still be in its relative infancy holding a substantial potential for further development. As such, improvements in production capacity and product quality frequently uncover further challenges leading to ongoing development.
