Complete process plants for the production of stacked Contilanod®
anodes from molten anode copper flowing from a customers anode or refining
furnace are available.
| The main process equipment includes: |
 |
Twelve ton holding furnace for anode copper flow regulation |
 |
Hazelett Twin-Belt Anode Caster |
 |
SMS Meer synchronized Hot Shear |
 |
Anode cooling tunnel |
 |
Anode stacking system |
Tankhouse Benefits
Uniformity of Anode Cross Section & Weight
Weight variation of ±0.5%.
Tankhouse scrap rates averaging 12% or less.
Anode drops in the tankhouse cell eliminated.
Anode conditioning not necessary.
Straight Hanging Anodes
Cell capacity can be increased by closer spacing.
Short circuits are eliminated.
Current efficiencies are increased.
Cathode sheet placements can be automated.

The accurate cast hanger lugs provide a precise knife edge contact, which
allows for perfect current distribution per cell making it possible to
increase current density and efficiency. The superior lug geometry causes
the anode to hang straight and true in the tankhouse cell, allowing for
closer spacing and additional cell capacity.

| Contilanod Anodes |
Higher Quality Cathodes & Purer Slimes
Contaminating mold coatings are eliminated.
A more uniform distribution of elements in the anode results in fewer
trapped contaminants.
